Equipment

Our current cluster was funded by DFG major instrumentation grant INST 295/63-1 LAGG. It is based on PowerEdge R640 servers and consists of an access node and 6 compute nodes. 288 cores in the compute nodes.

Hardware configuration

Network design: Guarded Beowulf cluster with 10 gigabit network between the nodes.

Compute nodes

  • 6 nodes each with two Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8268 processors with 24 cores each running at 2.9 GHz

  • 128 GB RAM per node. 768 GB RAM in total

Access node

  • One Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8268 processors with 24 cores each running at 2.9 GHz

  • 128 GB RAM

  • 2x 1,6TB HDD

Disc system

  • 50 TB iSCSI Storage
